Title: “Empowering the Youth for Economic Development.”
The recently concluded Youth Mentorship and Business Summit held at the Asenua GICG auditorium on November 12, 2023 was a resounding success, leaving a profound impact on its attendees. The theme for the summit was “Empowering the Youth for Economic Development,” the event aimed to engage, inspire, and equip the youth with practical skills and knowledge to transform their lives and contribute to the economic development of their communities.
The summit brought together a diverse group of ambitious young people eager to learn and grow, as well as experienced mentors who shared their insights gained from their respective industries. Attendees were not only offered an opportunity to network with like-minded individuals but also to learn practical, valuable life and business lessons that can be applied in their personal and professional journeys.
Nana Kofi Oppong III; Atimatim Dikro, the esteemed chairman for the occasion, addressed the youth, emphasizing the need to value their culture and to show respect towards mankind. He urged them to be mindful of their words, cautioning that utterances may have long-term implications which could be used against them in the future. He affirmed the importance of good character, stressing that a positive demeanour could open doors of opportunity and favour from influential figures.
In the words of Nana Kofi Oppong III, “Our youth are our future. Let’s empower them today, so they can create a prosperous economy for us all tomorrow.” With such summits, it is clear that the future is indeed bright for our young leaders.
The event’s success was largely due to the inspiring discussions led by seasoned professionals among them are Hon. Frank Boakye Agyen, Mrs Esther Owusu Bempah, Mr Adusei Alex, Dr Solomon Agyemang Prempeh, Mr Micheal Owusu Bempah, Hon. Daniel Agyenim Boateng, and Dr Edward Asadu. They shared their personal journey and experiences, providing practical advice and insights into the business world. The spectrum of topics was broad, ranging from entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership, to financial literacy and career development. The mentors’ practical approach ensured that the attendees could readily apply the lessons learned in their day-to-day lives.
Adding to the excitement of the day was the official launch of the fifth anniversary of the Nhyira Charities Foundation LBG by the Founder and President Master Agyei Peprah. The one-year celebration, slated to commence on 1st December 2023 and culminate on 1st December 2024, promises a lineup of activities designed to further empower and inspire the youth as well as benefit the Ghanaian community.
The summit also highlighted the importance of mentorship and guidance in the journey of personal and economic development. The mentor-mentee interactions were dynamic, fostering a conducive environment for learning and growth. The mentors served as role models, showing the attendees the power of resilience, dedication, and hard work.
The “Empowering the Youth for Economic Development” summit was indeed a transformative experience for the attendees. The valuable and practical knowledge shared will undoubtedly act as a catalyst, inspiring the young minds to contribute meaningfully to their communities’ economic development. It was a clear testament to the power of mentorship and the potential of the youth to drive economic growth.
As the attendees left the Asenua GICG auditorium, they carried with them not just the knowledge and skills imparted by the mentors, but also a renewed sense of purpose and determination. They have been empowered to become not just job seekers, but job creators who will play significant roles in their communities’ economic development.
The event also served as an opportunity for Nhyira Charities Foundation to express their gratitude towards the patron of theorganization, Hon. Daniel Agyenim Boateng. His consistent and relentless efforts towards the NGO were recognized and highly appreciated. The foundation wished him well in all his endeavor and this hon our done him was based on meritocracy.
