NCF Ghana Set to Initiate Clean Water Scheme in Northern Region with Turkish Partners


On 2nd September 2025, the Nhyira Charities Foundation team led by Mr. Peprah, the foundation’s President, and two Board Members met the Turkish Government Representatives who deal with Humanitarian Assistance to Less Privileged Communities on key issues to partner for the Clean Water Project in the Northern Region of Ghana.

The Project is worth 10million Dollars and is expected to benefit about 100,000 people. The Project is in the initial Stage as the two Parties are preparing for the next phase of the project, its implementation, and Timelines.

The Director, Mr. Guven applauded Nhyira Charities Foundation for a wonderful Proposal and pledged his Support for the Project.

Mr Nhyira Agyei Peprah, also asked for a partnership and exchange programs in Turkyie to help broaden the knowledge and experience of its members and Volunteers especially internships.

Mr.Franklin Atuahene, a board member of the Nhyira Charities Foundation added to the conversation that, Good drinking Water in the Northern Region will help improve the well-being of the People in the Northern region.

The Project is expected to address key issues of the following;

1. Drilling of Boreholes and Handpump Systems
o Construction of at least 10 boreholes in high-need communities.
o Installation of handpump or mechanized solar-powered systems where feasible.
2. Community-Based Water Management Committees
o Training of residents in maintenance and sustainability practices.
o Formation of committees to ensure proper use and upkeep.
3. Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Education
o Conduct sensitization programs on water safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
o Promote household water treatment methods where possible.
4. Partnership and Technical Support
o Collaboration with local government agencies (Ghana Water Company, Community Water and Sanitation Agency) to ensure alignment with national strategies.
o Leverage Turkish expertise and resources in water engineering and renewable energy technologies.

The Turkish Humanitarian Organization and Nhyira Charities Foundation will seek to improve the quality of life of the people in the Northern Region.
