The Nhyira Charities Foundation (NCF) LBG has officially commenced its 2026 activities with its flagship maiden programme, Career Guidance and Fair 2026, held at the Presbyterian Church in Asante Mampong.
The event brought together over a thousand final-year Junior High School students preparing for the Basic Education Certificate Examination, providing guidance and insights to support their academic and career decisions.
Organisers described the initiative as part of the Foundation’s broader commitment to empowering young people through early career orientation, practical exposure and informed decision-making.
During a session on examination preparation, Ms Vincentia Teye engaged students on effective study techniques, time management and strategies for approaching their final examinations, encouraging discipline and consistency.

On career pathways, particularly in science and engineering, Samuel Addai, representing Mahama, advised students to align their subject choices with their strengths and long-term ambitions, highlighting the growing relevance of science-driven careers.
Also addressing participants, Dr. Patrick Essien spoke on the importance of Technical and Vocational Education and Training and STEM in national development, urging students to consider these fields as viable career options.

Fifteen Junior High Schools across Mampong in the Ashanti Region participated in the programme, including St. Monica’s JHS, Mampong SDA JHS, St. Andrews College JHS, Church of Christ JHS, Mensah Saahene JHS, Sterling Heights Academy, Methodist JHS, Institute of Daarul Quaran, Mampong M/A Experimental JHS, Unity Junior High School, Messiah Baptist M/A JHS, St. Andrews Prɛtise JHS, St. Paul’s R/C JHS, Nana Adjei Brempong M/A JHS and Bosofour R/C JHS.
Students and teachers commended the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful in providing clarity and motivation at a crucial stage of their academic journey.
The Foundation indicated its intention to expand the programme to reach more schools and communities, as part of efforts to equip young people with the necessary tools for future success.
